Global Brand Standards · Version 9.1 · Internal and agency use

One brand. One better life.

These standards govern every expression of the DomiCorp brand, in every jurisdiction, on every surface. They are mandatory. Deviations are reviewed by the Office of the Chairman and are not approved.

01

Brand principles

The DomiCorp brand expresses three qualities. Everything we produce must express all three, in this order.

Certain

We do not hedge, wonder, or hope. Our headlines are statements. Every headline ends with a full stop, because the matter is closed.

Calm

Nothing is urgent. Nothing is exciting. The brand never raises its voice, because it has never needed to.

Unaccountable

The brand describes outcomes, never causes. Events occur. Chapters are difficult. Value is created. By whom is not a question the brand answers.

03

Colour

The palette is navy, blue, grey and white. There is one accent, used sparingly, for the things that matter. There is no red. Nothing at DomiCorp goes down.

Typography

DomiCorp uses Inter, in three weights, everywhere, forever. Inter was chosen because it says nothing. The Group licenses it under terms it considers favourable.

Display / H1A better life.
H2Built for scale. Structured for resilience.
H3Domi Capital Partners

LeadCertainty for our shareholders. Consideration for our stakeholders. The second remains under review.
BodyThe Group operates in full compliance with the laws of the jurisdictions in which it chooses to be regulated.
Caption / DisclaimerUnaudited. Figures exclude intra-group transfers, which represent 61% of Group revenue.
DoSentence case. Full stop after every headline. Tabular figures for every number. Letter-spacing of −0.02em on display sizes, +0.14em on eyebrows.
Do notUse an exclamation mark, anywhere, ever. Use bold for emphasis in body copy. Use a question mark in a headline. The brand does not ask.
05

Tone of voice

DomiCorp speaks the way a very large building would speak if it could. Slowly, from above, and without any need to be liked.

Do not write"We're sorry."
Write"The Group acknowledges this."
Do not write"We polluted the river."
Write"A release event occurred at a Materials facility."
Do not write"We were found guilty."
Write"A settlement was reached without admission of liability."
Do not write"We fired 12,000 people."
Write"The Group right-sized its human capital footprint to deliver a better life."
Do not write"Our cat."
Write"The Chairman."

The motto

"A better life." Three words and a full stop. Adopted in Bruges in 1426 as Vita Melior, unchanged since, and registered as a trademark in 147 jurisdictions.

CorrectA better life.
A better life. For those who matter.
Six centuries of a better life.
IncorrectA better life!
A better life?
A better life for everyone.
A better life for whom?

The motto is never followed by a qualifier that would narrow or specify its beneficiary, except "for those who matter", which has been reviewed by Legal.

07

Depicting the Chairman

The Chairman is the only living element of the brand. His depiction is governed by the Office of the Chairman and by the following rules, which are not negotiable.

  1. Only photographs released by the Office of the Chairman may be used. They are stored at assets/photos/dominique/. Unauthorised photography of the Chairman is a compliance matter.
  2. Where no approved photograph exists, the official silhouette is used: navy on navy, gold tie, no facial features. The silhouette faces forward. The Chairman does not.
  3. The Chairman is always positioned higher than any other element in the composition. Nothing sits above the Chairman.
  4. The Chairman is never cropped, never flipped, never placed next to a competitor's product, and never captioned with an adjective.
  5. In illustration, the Chairman appears only as a solid black silhouette, seated, seen from behind, watching.
  6. The word "cat" does not appear in brand materials. See Vocabulary.
08

Photography

DomiCorp photography shows the world as the Group sees it: from a height, at golden hour, with the people small.

DoIndustrial landscapes at dawn or dusk so that they look beautiful. Aerials. Glass, steel, water, horizon. Desaturate to 70%. People seen from behind, at a distance, or as hands. Cool overlay of DomiCorp Navy at 55% on heroes.
Do notShow a face making eye contact with the camera, other than the Chairman and the leadership (see Portraiture). Show smoke in colour. Show a community. Show a beach after 1989. Use warm tones without a navy overlay. Show anyone resting.
08b

Executive and Board portraiture

Leadership portraits communicate one thing: the answer is no. A smile implies a concession.

DoMid-grey studio backdrop. Head and shoulders, centred, direct gaze. Hair set firmly. Pearls, gold chains, reading glasses on a chain. The expression of someone who has run a bar-tabac for forty years and knows exactly what you are about to ask.
Do notSmile. Tilt the head. Photograph outdoors, at golden hour, or near a plant. Retouch the lines; they were earned. Use a portrait of anyone under sixty.

Portraits are produced from brand/portraits.json by scripts/generate-portraits.mjs.

09

Illustration system

Illustrations extend the brand where photography would be indiscreet. They are flat, geometric and calm, in the brand palette only, and the Chairman watches from the highest point.

Style definition

Flat vector, editorial, subtle isometric perspective. Palette limited to DomiCorp Navy, Certainty Blue, Deep Blue, Disclosure Light, white and one small accent of Cayman Gold. Thin 1.5px line details. Generous negative space. Matte. No gradients, textures, text, logos or faces. Composed like a page in an annual report.

The Chairman in illustration

A solid black silhouette, seated upright, seen from behind, always higher than every other element. He is never the largest element and never the subject. He is present.

Aspect ratios

Landscape 3:2 (1536×1024) for heroes, segment cards and section visuals. Square 1:1 (1024×1024) for portraits and spot illustrations. Never portrait orientation. Nothing at DomiCorp is taller than it is wide, except the buildings.

Placement

Home hero (right column), six segment cards, Sustainability, Careers, History and Contact. Files live in assets/illustrations/<key>.jpg; pages fall back to icons or photography when a file is absent.

Production

Illustrations are produced from the prompt manifest in brand/illustrations.json by scripts/generate-illustrations.mjs, which appends the style definition above to every prompt. Reproduce with:

OPENAI_API_KEY=… node scripts/generate-illustrations.mjs            # all missing
node scripts/generate-illustrations.mjs --only hero, chairman --force # regenerate two
node scripts/generate-illustrations.mjs --quality high --model gpt-image-1

  • hero The Chairman on a skyscraper roof at dawn, industrial skyline below.
  • segment-energy Offshore platform and coal conveyor, isometric.
  • segment-capital Nested holding boxes flowing to a small island with one palm tree.
  • segment-agri Trawlers through a shoal of sardines; the Chairman on the bridge.
  • segment-data An eye of network nodes above a city grid at night.
  • segment-materials Molecular chains from a chemical plant into a river.
  • segment-security Shield, radar sweeps, drones over a perimeter.
  • chairman Empty boardroom at dawn; one beam of gold light on the head chair.
  • sustainability One tree in a planter on a factory roof.
  • careers Infinite identical desks; the Chairman on the mezzanine.
  • history Sailing ship to Arctic platform, one horizon.
  • contact One telephone on an empty reception desk, cameras in every corner.

Layout, iconography and motion

Grid

1200px container, 24px gutters. Sections at 88px vertical padding, alternating white and Alt Surface. Corner radius 2px. Corners are a liability.

Icons

24px grid, 1.5px stroke, round caps, Certainty Blue. Outline only. An icon is a hint, not a picture.

Motion

150ms ease on hover. Nothing else moves, except the share price, which moves up, and the tape, which never stops.
